Rick Eagan
Community Development and Special Projects Coordinator
St. Christopher House
Mr. Eagan is the Coordinator of Community Development and Special Projects at Toronto’s St. Christopher House, where he helps vulnerable populations participate in SCH’s research and policy development. Financial literacy projects include a partnership with the Centre for Urban and Community Studies on neighbourhood change, and partnership with the Royal Bank Financial Group and Bain and Company on financial services to meet the needs and means of “unbanked and underbanked” lower income and vulnerable populations. SCH is a partner in learn$ave, a national demonstration research project led by SEDI. Mr. Eagan collaborates with Dr. Jerry Buckland’s research on financial exclusion, CFEE’s development of the Virtual Advisor, and SEDI’s research into financial capability. He completed two community research projects funded by Consumer Affairs/Industry Canada on access to financial services for newcomers and people with lower education, and on savings options of low‐income people as they approach retirement.
We’ve trained more than 1,100 front line staff across Canada. See the list of community organizations who have received our financial literacy training.
