Richard Hookham

Richard Hookham is a former senior manager with the Policy Branch of the Canadian International Development Agency in Ottawa and has recently retired to a role as an independent consultant. Over the past 26 years, Mr. Hookham has worked in the field of international development as a consultant, an employee of CIDA, and on secondment from CIDA to international NGOs. Over that time, he has held fiscal and strategic planning positions, and has been directly involved in numerous bilateral projects ‐ for which he has travelled extensively in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, including the Caribbean. While working in international development, Mr. Hookham also acquired an MBA and a CGA designation to complement his Engineering degree. He has always had an interest in social and economic development and has supported, directly and indirectly, small and micro enterprise development, (both domestically and internationally), and acted as a mentor to young entrepreneurs.
